Srushti began to prepare herself for the UPSC exam in her third year as a student in engineering. After her graduation she started to wonder whether she could find satisfaction in a engineering job. Then she realized that her ideal job would be in civil service and started to focus on it. The parents of her encouraged her to pursue civil rights and get an opportunity to serve the public. The young woman never lost her enthusiasm and was focused in her pursuit to become an IAS. The process of achieving UPSC requires more effort. She would prepare for UPSC subject areas while she was studying her engineering. The time she allocated for examination preparation each day. She studied for the engineering tests in only one-and-a-half months and stayed away from social activities. She believes that being focused only on the work at hand is key to passing this test. She aimed to pass this exam in the first try and put in a lot of work. In order to stay up-to-date on recent events her routine was to go through papers. Also, she received a lot of help online collecting different study materials and watching Rajya Sabha TV.
